Visit Local Exhibits From Your Home

Staying home during the Covid- 19 pandemic doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the vast resources of cultural organizations in the Manatee/Sarasota area. Hop online to take a virtual visit at your favorite local museum, aquarium, art galleries, and more.

The Bishop

The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature is posting daily videos on their social media to share interesting facts about local natural history, such as cool facts about seashells. You can download their app, Bishop Pathways, to go on a virtual tour right on your phone or tablet.

ArtCenter Manatee

Every week, ArtCenter Manatee is adding new art to their website to show off the artistic talents of our community. One exhibit they have so far features gorgeous watercolor paintings by Kathy Simon McDonald.

Manatee Village Historical Park

The Manatee Village Historical Park may be closed, but staff is posting gems from the park on their social media. Follow them to learn about the park’s buildings, try a local recipe from their archives, or see cute photos of what the wildlife is up to while the park is free of humans.

The Ringling

The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art has photos of thousands of pieces of art, including paintings, sculptures, vases, circus bills, textiles, and jewelry. You can even view their outdoor sculptures to virtually wander the museum’s beautiful grounds.

Mote

Need a dose of adorable? Tune into to the webcams at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium to see what the otters, sharks, and manatees during the day. You can also register for Mote’s upcoming virtual events including tours, shark feedings, animal happy hours.
