We're excited to nominate two outstanding poems for the Best New Poets 2024 anthology. Both poems were published in 805 in 2023 and written by poets who are changing the landscape of this form. Congratulations and good luck!
"Flashback," by Kenton K. Yee
"How a Month Becomes a Tidal Force," by Jill Michelle
Also, a big congratulations to Jill on her forthcoming collection Underwater (Riot in Your Throat, 2025).
If you've been considering a private mail setup, this detailed walkthrough of the Mail-in-a-Box toolkit is a great resource. It covers both running your own mail server and using it as a relay, which is a practical angle for multi-server setups.
What I liked about this article is how it explains that mood-related changes are often subtle rather than dramatic. It shows that factors like sleep, recovery, stress, and hormones are all connected. That broader explanation makes the topic easier to understand. I also appreciate that the article avoids exaggerated promises. The content is practical and balanced. Definitely an interesting read.
