I see her soul right through her eyes

Aniya Fields

I see her soul right through her eyes,

A pretty face is a bad disguise,

I feel her pain as though we’re connected.

What I feel is the feeling of being neglected.

Her spirit is diamond.

Her thoughts are worth gold.

All the mountains she’s climbing are stories untold,

She’s beautiful,

Both inside and out,

But the person who broke her gave her self-doubt.

Though she has a tough spirit and thoughts worth a fortune,

That shattered heart made of glass gave her reflection

Distortion.
