Teen Poetry Contest!

Calling all teen poets in Manatee County!


Submissions are open for Braden River Library's Teen Poetry Contest. Submit up to two original poems by April 30, 2020 to

bradenriverlibrary@mymanatee.org.


Poets must be ages 13-18 and reside in Manatee County, FL.Submissions must include name, age, school, and phone number.


The top poems will be published in a special issue of 805 Art + Lit. Three winners will receive a prize pack and individual feedback on their poems from Hannah Aizenman, Poetry Coordinator at The New Yorker.


All poets will be celebrated at a reading and reception on May 9, 2020 from 4-5 PM at the Braden River Library 4915 53rd Avenue East, Bradenton, FL 34203.


The contest is sponsored by the Friends of the Braden River Library, and the Friends of the Central Library.
