I am coal, the undesirable, the overlooked

I am coal, dirty and scorched I lay, day after day

I’m looked down upon by human society, those

Eyes, cold and unforgiving, begin to create an immense pressure

 

However, I’m resilient, all that pressure is going to do is turn me into

A gorgeous shining diamond that will blind all that dare stare over me
